Maybelline New York XXL Mascara

I haven't posted in a few days because I've been reviewing new products. I have been wanting to try a new mascara. Secretly, I'm always constantly comparing mascaras to Maybelline Great Lash. It's the best I've ever tried, so I'm curious to see if I'm ever going to find one that's better.
Here I am walking in one of my favorite beauty stores, while looking in the makeup aisle. I see all of the different brands Revlon, Neutrogena, Almay, Cover Girl... and there it is -- Maybelline. They lay a whole column of mascaras. The first thing I spot, Maybelline Great Lash. Of course, I already have a nearly full bottle at home. So I continue searching... Maybelline Volum' Express Mascara (already have that one at home too). Then, there it was below the Shiny-licious Lip Gloss -- Maybelline New York XXL Volume + Length Mascara in Very Black.
I have heard so many great things about this mascara, so as soon as I saw it I knew I just had to buy it. The look of the mascara is really nice, and "intense." But not nearly as intense as it was, putting it on this morning. It really is "Too intense for the shy"!
The first step is to apply the lengthening mascara. It shoots your lashes way up, and for those of you like me, who have very long lashes as it is. This just emphasizes our long lash-iness! The second step (and the last) is to apply the volume mascara, and does it ever apply the volume! It makes my lashes so full and thick, and irresistable if I might add. It really makes my eyes *pop* so this is a definent recommendation.
You can get Maybelline New York XXL Mascara at your local drugstore, or any department store. $6 U.S.

Can you say "book, please?"

I'm going to the library tomorrow, to pick up some new reads. I can't wait! I'm going to try to get the ones on my list (i.e. New Reads). Do you all have any suggestions? If so, please comment!

I just recieved my December issue of Seventeen Magazine in the mail today. I think it's one of the best covers, they've ever done. Paris Hilton is the covergirl, she looks very pretty on the cover along with the cute kitty. Diamonds are all around the cover! It's so pretty! I'll report on this, once I read it.

The Tyra Banks Show "Modeling Scams"

I love The Tyra Show! It's one of my favorites, and I love Tyra. She's one of my biggest inspirations. So, this will in no way be the last post about her on my blog! However, today's post on The Tyra Show is very disturbing, if you saw the show today. You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Today's episode was about modeling scams. Tyra has repeatedly said on her show, in interviews, and on ANTM. That you do not have to pay money, to be a part of a modeling agency. You do not have to take your clothes off, to be a part of an agency. It's all about being smart, and research, research, research. To make sure the agency is legitimate because there are so many modeling scams out there. You can get your money taken away, you can get raped, you can even get killed!

I couldn't agree more with Tyra on this subject. I couldn't believe what happened on the show, apparently, people are not listening to Tyra.

On the show, Tyra set up a fake open call, for a fake agency. Seeing if people have been listening and are being smart about this. She had one of her producers as the smooth-talking photographer. Because that's what the photographers do to women and young girls. They give them compliments, tell them they're beautiful, and then they tell them to show a little skin. Then, the next thing you know they don't have any clothes on. I'm so amazed that people do this, and that people fall for it.

Tyra was there, in the next room. Of course, they didn't know that. They had no idea what they had gotten theirselves into. Once a girl walked into a room, where the photo shoot was taking place. The photographer was giving her compliments, and I was shocked to see what happened. As to how quickly all of those girls handed over their credit cards, because the photographer had told them that they had to pay, etc.

I was even more shocked, at how many of those girls took their clothes off. After the photographer had said that it was for French Vogue! Like, as if it was nothing. In fact, there was only ONE girl who stood strong and said that she wouldn't pose nude. I really commend her for staying strong, and sticking to what she believe in!

I'm just amazed that so many girls, even after most of them told Tyra that they had seen the show and heard everything she said about modeling scams. That was when she came out, into the room and talked to all of the girls, and explained what was going on. They were embarrassed as they should be, for what they did. None of them would come on the show, because they were so embarrassed. The only girl that agreed to come on the show was the one who didn't take her clothes off.

Please, anyone reading this -- I can't not say this enough. You do NOT have to pay money for an agency to represent you. Once they start booking you jobs, and you are getting those jobs. They get a percentage of the money you make. It's free to join an agency!

You do not have to take your clothes off at an open call, or for an agency to accept you. ALWAYS research, and make sure the agency is legitimate. Some legitimate agencies are Ford, Wilhemnia, NEXT, L.A. Models, and Elite. They're top modeling agencies, and all you have to do is follow their instructions on their website. To send in photographs (you do NOT have to pay money for professional photos!), polaroids are fine. Natural is the way to go, which means NO makeup. Agencies want to see the real you, the natural you.

So I ask all of my readers, please follow this and don't fall into the scams. Be smart, as Tyra has been quoted (this is one of my favorite quotes, by the way) "A smart model is a good model."

Beauty Sites ♥

I've been surfing the net, for some well worth reading beauty sites. So, here we go...

www.makeupalley.com
This is by far, my favorite out of all of these websites. I've been a long-time fan of Makeup Alley! It's a wonderful reference site, for anyone who wants to try a new product and wants to know how others feel about the product(s). It's full of reviews of any and all products you can think of, and you can make or just read others shopping diarys. To see what they're buying, and how much $$$ they go over their budget.

www.makeup.com
This site is filled with tons of skin care products, fragrances, and yes, you guessed it... makeup!

www.sephora.com
How can you mention beauty sites, without naming Sephora? It's simply, impossible. They have so many amazing products, but some of their products are pretty expensive. Most prices are pretty reasonable, considering the product(s).

www.makeup411.com
I love this site, it's great. It has all your favorite celebs, and THEIR makeup. It has beauty products, gives advice, a message board, and lots more.

New Reads!

I personally, love to read. I have so much respect, for authors and what they do. Some of you (especially, ones who haven't wrote a book, or tried) may think it's easy, but I'm currently writing a novel. It's anything but, easy! It's very difficult, and sometimes you think you're doing fine. Then, you leave it for a little while, go back to it, and you think it's terrible and find many mistakes. That you didn't find the first time. I do know a lot about writing, so if any of you would like some advice on writing, I would be glad to help!

Since I absolutely love to read, I wanted to post on some of the new books I have yet to read (and can't wait to!). Hopefully, I will get to very soon. With my busy schedule, as much as I like to read. I'm always working, and find it hard just to sit and read a good novel.

Bad Kitty by Michele Jaffe, is one of my most looking-forward-to-reading books. It sounds so interesting, by the description. Which you can find on Michele's website (www.michelejaffe.com) and you can buy the book at your local bookstore, or at www.harperteen.com Jasmine sounds like a very mysterious character, that we all have lots to learn about. I'm really curious as to how this bad kitty can cause so much
adventure... and drama!

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard, sounds like just the kind of book I like to read. That was the first thought that came to mind, just by the title. The second thought, came after reading the description, "This novel is perfect for me! Glamorous, Scandalous, and oh, so, delicious!" It's all about the three ous's, ha ha! I love reading books, about rich girls, drama, and glamour. Because in books, or at least most of them in this category. Prove, that their lives really aren't as glamorous as they seem -- I love it! www.prettylittleliarsbooks.com

Good Girls by Laura Ruby, seems like an awesome book. The first time I read the description, I fell in love with it right then. It's about this girl who has been a good girl, straight A student... a goody-two-shoes pretty much. But when one photo, gets accidently sent to her parents email and the ENTIRE school, lets just say it sounds like there's big trouble ahead for her! Maybe, that's what happens when a good girl goes bad? I guess I'll have to read the book, to find out! www.lauraruby.com

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson, is a book I've been wanting to read ever since it came out last month. No, unfortunatly, I still haven't gotten to read it yet, but by the description it sounds amazing. So it's definitley on my must-read list! I know that Maureen Johnson is a wonderful author, so this book has to be good. I'm sure most of you have either read some of her books, or heard of them -- The Key to the Golden Firebird is one of my all-time favorites! www.maureenjohnsonbooks.com

If any of you, have read any of these books, or want to read them, etc. Please, comment!
